Neck Lift

A neck lift (plastysmaplasty or cervicoplasty) is a cosmetic, surgical procedure designed to reduce signs of aging in neck. A neck lift does not include a facelift while a facelift includes a neck lift. A neck lift procedure tightens the neck skin, tightens muscles, and reduces fat deposit for a more rejuvenated appearance.

A neck lift candidate is typically an adult in good overall health who is looking to enhance the contour of their neck. Candidates have loose, sagging skin on the neck, and show signs of facial aging but have good skin elasticity.

A neck lift is performed as an outpatient procedure and patients can go home the same day. The type of neck lift incisions vary depending on the extent of the procedure being addressed (traditional, mini, or liposuction) depending on your needs. Discreet incisions are usually made in the natural creases of the skin and proper scar care minimizes their visibility.

Patients may feel discomfort and swelling in the neck that is well tolerated with prescribed medication. It’s important to follow all post-operative instructions carefully.

Most patients can return to light activities after surgery but should avoid vigorous exercise and heavy lifting until cleared by their surgeon. Regular follow-up appointments with your surgeon are important to monitor healing and address any concerns during the recovery process.
